You may have to wait for a little while, as quite often the messages are slightly delayed. A form is also available at "My lernu!" through which you can request that the system send the code to you again. If that doesn't help, the spam filters on your e-mail server are probably filtering our messages out. Check your spam box, and if our messages aren't there, you will have to write to the administrators of your server and try changing your e-mail address. Read here to find out how to change an e-mail address.
It could be that your account has already been confirmed. That can happen if you accidentally clicked on the confirmation link twice, or if you refreshed the page after entering the confirmation code. Try to log in using your username and password. If that doesn't help, you can use this page to request that the system send you a new confirmation code, so you can try again. If even that doesn't help, write a comment using the comments link, found at the bottom of every lernu! page. In that case, someone from our team will assist you.
On this page you can ask the system to send you a message with your username and password. Just type your e-mail address into the form.
Unfortunately, that isn't possible at the moment, but the lernu! team hopes to be able to add that capability in the future.
You can do that at this page. But you must first log in to be able to see that page.
You can do that at this page. Note that a confirmation code will be sent to your new e-mail address; you will have to confirm the change. If you don't complete the confirmation, the change will not take place.
Yes, you can do that at this page. Type in your new information and click on the button at the bottom.
At the top of every page, in the right-hand corner, there is a language menu. Choose another language, and don't forget to click the "Ek!" button next to the menu.
It could be that it is too large or in a format that our system doesn't support. In the form at "Photo", read carefully about the requirements regarding size and format of photos, then make sure that your photo follows those rules. If you realize that it is too large or in the wrong format, try using a computer graphics program (like Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft paint) to make the photo smaller and/or convert it to the right format.
You must first delete your current photo. You can do that using this form. Under "Photo" at the question Delete?, choose "Yes" and save the changes using the button at the bottom. Your photo will be deleted; then, you can use the same form to upload a new photo.
It could be that your picture was deemed indecent and could offend other people in our site. Our site is used by children as well as adults. Usually, we write to users first and request that they remove these sorts of pictures. But if they don't react to our message, we remove the picture ourselves.
Most probably, this is happening because you indicated in your profile that you do not want your profile published. Look at this page and make sure that at "Publish" you have chosen "Yes". If "No" is selected, change that to "Yes" and then save your changes using the button at the bottom of the page.
This is because not all users have input the coordinates of where they live into their profiles. If you want your name to appear in the map, go to this page and input the coordinates of where you life. Then, don't forget to save the changes.
Don't worry, they are visible to other users. You can't see them because you don't need to add yourself to your friends list or correspond with yourself.
It shows your activity level during the last 30 days. If you haven't visited the site in 30 days, your activity level goes to zero, even if you used the site actively before. The more often you logged in, and the more pages you visited during the last 30 days, the higher your activity level will be.
You don't see the registration page in the main menu because you probably indicated to the system that you want it to remember you. So when you return to the page again another time, you are automatically logged in, and because of that, the registration page is not visible. To see the page again, you must log out. In the right-hand side of the page, find the link "Log out"; click on it, and then the option "Register" will appear in the main menu. Using the form found on that page, your friend will be able to register easily.
This probably has to do with our "Word of the day" service. At the bottom of every e-mail message with a word of the day, there is a direct link. Click on it. After you do that, a page should appear with a message saying that you successfully unsubscribed from the word of the day. Or else, you can log in at lernu! and in your profile, choose "No" under "Word of the Day". Don't forget to save your changes using the button at the bottom of the page.
Unfortunately not, because that would be too much work for the lernu! translators (it would be necessary to translate also the examples and so forth, which are useful primarily for people who already speak the language somewhat). Instead, we are working to improve the lernu! dictionary and add to it more translations and explanations of Esperanto words.
Make sure that you've chosen "Yes" under "Word of the Day" in your profile. If you have all of the settings correct in your profile, it may be that the spam filter of your e-mail service has started filtering out our messages. Check your spam box, and if that doesn't help, write to the administrators of your ISP, or change your e-mail address at lernu!.
Lernu! tutors correct the exercises during their free time, because this work is not paid. Because of that, sometimes an exercise might not be answered for several days. There could be many reasons; for example, a tutor is too busy, travelling away from home, etc. Wait several days, and if you don't receive a response, write a comment about it using the comments link, found at the bottom of every lernu! page. Perhaps we will find a person who can correct your exercise; it depends on what language you speak, and whether we have another person available who speaks your language.
It could be that you are using a web browser that our site doesn't support. We have tested our site only in Firefox 1.4+ and Internet Explorer 5+. We recommend that you use these browsers for lernu!. If you are using one of these browsers, but in spite of that, there are some errors, and/or a page doesn't look right, we ask you to inform us of that using the comments link, found at the bottom of every lernu! page.
You can find all information about that at the page about special characters.
If you want to keep an x, put an apostrophe before it. For example, c'x, g'x, j'x, u'x (with no spaces).
Thanks! You can find more information here.
